The Alma is the home of great, award winning food & towards the back of the pub our large & airy dining room is a great escape from the buzz of the bar.

Head Chef, Martin Nugent and his team take inspiration from classic pub dishes to modern gastropub dining, our chefs insist on as local produce as possible, and create menus that change according to the seasons – think English asparagus, Barnsley lamb chops, slow-cooked pork belly, fresh-caught scallops from English waters, 21-day aged steaks with hand-cut chips.

While our dining room stands as a destination in its own right, it's still just as relaxed and easy-going as the rest of The Alma, so you can use it to start the day with a big breakfast, have a casual lunch or a formal dinner. If you prefer, eat in the bar for even more informal dining.

We serve our restaurant menu throughout lunchtimes and evenings Monday to Friday and all day at weekends.

If you’re looking for the perfect place to enjoy great food, great drink, and great company on a Sunday, look no further than The Alma. Every Sunday, our kitchen creates delicious roasts with Dingley Dell rolled pork belly, roast sirloin of West Country beef, and corn fed chicken, which are accompanied by seasonal vegetables and bathed in rich gravy. You are welcome to join our bustling environment with friends and family to enjoy our fantastic roasts, weekend sport, or just a quick drink.

We are proud to announce that The Alma's kitchen has been awarded a 5 star rating by the Food Standards Agency. Food hygiene is one of our top priorities and we will always endeavour to deliver not only delicious, but safe food.
