After 4 months of speedy work we have said a fond farewell to the crane. Thanks for your work but you won’t be missed!!
Only 13 weeks left to go! So… The building work is almost complete, in the next week or so we will see the roof go on – we just need blue skies back to speed things up!
Heres whats going on inside…
BIG developments this week! Not only are we nearly at the end of the second floor brickwork but we are really cracking on with the the pub interior plans and they look amazing! We have visuals of the bedrooms/bathrooms mocked up ready for our brand new spanking website andour new logo and signage is being [...]
I can’t believe how far we have come in just 2 weeks. The ground floor brickwork is now complete and the steel works arrive this week. We can now see the size of the rooms and our brand new ground floor kitchen. The visuals are now up on the outside hoardings so you can see [...]
The sun is shining and we’re nearly half way there! Things are happening so quickly now and the changes are by the hour. The ground floor brickwork is being laid and time-wise we are back on track. Hurrah!
If you want a job done properly, you can’t beat a northern company…Much to my delight, the crane was assembled by Baldwins of Leeds! A highly skilled and long job in soaring temperatures but our crane is now in place…. the real work has now begun….
How can we be a third of the way ALREADY?!? We’re out of the ground at least and awaiting the arrival of the crane which apparantly means the start of the exciting stuff!!
The laying of the first brick has been a milestone moment and we can begin to see the layout of the ground floor!
Week 10 and things are getting interesting again! The foundations are being dug for our new basement which will house our new boiler room (this is exciting in our world!)
It is a little sad to see the end of our courtyard especially now the days are getting warmer but the end product will be worth [...]
A whole 3 weeks has passed and… there is still a big hole! I suspect this stage could take quite a while and not actually be very eventful!
Other news is that we have picked some amazing interiors, I am loving the beautiful Swan Lake wallpaper, part of the sylvana range by Nina Campbell for Osbourne [...]
Can’t believe we are at the end of phase 1 already. We’re on plan and demolition complete. The site looks huge and the underpinning is ready to start.
Rain, rain, rain… but hasn’t stopped play! The metal works is almost completely demolished and the archeological dig starts this week. Wonder if they’ll find anything?!
First full site meeting today and so far we are on track. The contractors will soon be working from the flower shop offices next door alleviating any excess “Porta cabins” on Alma Road.
Today we looked at the fluffy stuff – the amazing interiors for the rooms and there were also less glamorous talks about sump [...]
Close to the end of Week 1 and the roof of the metal works has gone, we have a whole new view from our flat! Metal gates have been installed within the hoardings and the site is looking surprisingly neat and tidy!
Progress! The hoardings are nearly all up and the demolition of the metal works has begun. 2 new doors have also appeared in the pub…
Finally the big start day arrives and we rush downstairs to work expecting big happenings! Our over enthusiasm was misplaced, just one van and a few small tinkerings going on next door in the metal works!
